Schools can be a stressful place for some students. According to the CDC we are in a mental health emergency and the thoughts of suicide, feelings of depression, and anxiety are on the rise.
As a teacher utilizing digital technology as part of a journalism and multimedia program, I would like use that technology to help students.
I am developing virtual “Relax, Reset and Recharge” rooms for high school students ages 15 to 18. The goal is to help solve mental wellness issues in schools by allowing break times to access an Oculus headset where students can experience 360 videos and scenes as well as engage with augmented reality rooms.

The Field Test
VR Rooms
I created this VR rooms with a 360 camera and edited them together so they could be uploaded and viewed on an Oculus headset. Students were able to test out the rooms and provide feedback.
