This “bio video” was created at the tail end of my journey towards completing my masters. It tells the story of my time as a broadcast journalist and career change to a public communications professional and educator. What makes the story unique is my transition to motherhood and how that fuels my drive to succeed.

I am passionate about storytelling, videography, digital technology, emerging media trends, and coaching the storytellers of tomorrow.

I am a recent graduate of S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University where I gained an MS in Communication with a specialty in Broadcast Innovation. I was awarded the honor for highest GPA among the December 2022 graduates in the Journalism Innovation specialization of the MS Communications program with a cumulative GPA of 3.97.

I received my BS in Broadcast Journalism in 2005 from Northern Vermont University – Lyndon. After graduating, I moved to Montana for my first gig as a reporter at KTVH. I fell in love with Big Sky Country and wanted to stay. So, I took my next job in news at KPAX-TV in Missoula, MT. A station and place played a major role in my career and life.

In 2008 I moved back to my stomping grounds, New England. I took a job as an anchor, reporter, and producer at WSHM CBS 3 Springfield in Massachusetts. I spent four years there and drastically advanced my skills, confidence, and overall ability as a journalist. But, Montana was still calling.

In 2011 it was time to go “home.” I moved back to the Bitterroot Valley of Montana and worked as the morning anchor and producer of KPAX Montana this morning for nearly a decade. I built a strong relationship with the community, something that continues to enhance my career today.

In 2020 I accepted the position as Communications Director for Hamilton School District #3. I helped the district navigate the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic brought. I also brought the district into the digital world. I enhanced the districts online presence and completely overhauled the district website.

Currently, I am pursuing innovation in education through the development of a journalism and multimedia program at Hamilton High School. The program offers classes in podcasting, multimedia storytelling, broadcast journalism, media law & ethics, social media marketing, and website development.

When I am not working you will find me with my family. We embrace the outdoors and everything the Montana lifestyle has to offer. We enjoy riding our horses, hunting, fishing, skiing, camping, and exploring.
